established Westpoint Stud in 1990.
The 100 acre stud is located on the Shropshire / Powys
border.
Edward has been breeding competition horses all his life and is
an approved BEF Young Horse Evaluator.
About Us
In 1990 we embarked upon breeding top quality horses to excel in dressage, showjumping and eventing
using our renowned, dual purpose stallion Fulton. This aim continues today supported by additional
approved resident stallions [see Resident Stallions page] and the development of our successful
AI Centre. Chilled/frozen semen inseminations, in association with Mark Baines BVSc, MRCVS of
Fyrnwy Equine Clinics, provides access to a whole range of top class performance stallions across
the UK and Europe. We strive to satisfy a growing desire amongst UK breeders, including ourselves, to
see British riders on British bred horses competing internationally and winning medals at top world level.
Westpoint is not just our business it is our home. The family lives on site and so together with our competent, dedicated Stud Assistant, Sarah Roberts - holder of the National Diploma in Equine Studies, we can offer 24 hour a day on-site supervision. We understand how precious mares/foals are to their owners and to this end, all facilities are managed to ensure a comfortable and safe stay for visiting mares and foals.
